The Epilepsy Society is the leading epilepsy charity in the UK for research and support. Providing care and helping those with epilepsy feel more confident in themselves. The epilepsy society is supported by a wide variety of staff, from medical to fundraising.
Ripple’s task was to produce a press release that would be sent to Bucks Free Press. The press release subject was the virtual trek that Gerrards Cross and Fulmer Netball Team made, to raise funds for the Epilepsy Society. However, this was not just any virtual trek, this was to Lapland, and in some cases back again in time for Christmas. Ripple gathered information and photographs from one of the fundraisers and worked with the Epilepsy Society on style and format. This led to a successful press release that captured Bucks Free Press’s attention and was published on Christmas Eve.
What Epilepsy Society said about Ripple:
“This was published on Christmas Eve and is a great awareness raiser locally for epilepsy. Thank you so much for doing this. I really appreciate it. Thank you for turning this around so quickly James. It is great.”

The Dragon is a prep and pre-prep school based in Oxford for 4 to 13-year olds. It is spread over two locations in north-Oxford and has been a presence in the city since 1877. The Dragon has a strong alumni community called Old Dragons, often sharing their experiences with current students. Many notable alumni such as Sir John Betjeman, Hugh Laurie and Emma Watson have helped give the Dragon international status as one of the top prep schools in the country.
Ripple’s role at the Dragon was to copyedit and proofread the termly e-newsletter “Community News”, which is received by current and Old Dragons. With the aim of strengthening the Old Dragon community relationships. The text included a variety of articles ranging from interviews to historical pieces. Using a mixture of proofreading techniques, Ripple kept the original theme of each article as well as ensuring the text was grammatically correct. This led to a successful e-newsletter.
What the Dragon said about Ripple Copywriting:
“James was a pleasure to work with. He returned his amends promptly and his feedback was both detailed and easy to follow. With James an Old Dragon himself, he understood the School’s unique style-guide and could relate to much of the content — it was great to hear his thoughts on the articles ahead of publication.”
